Our Founder Vivian’s Home Named Finalist on RTÉ’s Home of the Year 2025

We’re delighted to share that Vivian Wong, founder of One More Thing, has been selected as a finalist on RTÉ’s Home of the Year 2025 — Ireland’s beloved interiors series that celebrates individuality, creativity, and beautifully curated living spaces.

A Design-Led Home Built From the Ground Up

Located in County Kildare, Vivian’s home stood out to the judges for its elegant visual storytelling, refined materials, and deeply personal aesthetic. But this wasn’t always a dream home.

When Vivian and her husband first received the keys, it was a bare-shell new build — blank walls, concrete floors, and no finishes. The transformation happened entirely during lockdown, when supply chain challenges and remote decision-making added complexity. Yet every corner of the home, from layout to finish, was designed by Vivian herself.

“I couldn’t visit showrooms. I had to visualise everything — flow, materials, light — from moodboards and instinct. It was a test of trust in my own design voice.”

A Love Letter to Marble, Texture, and Stillness

From the moment you enter the home, you’re met with layered textures, clean architectural lines, and dramatic uses of marble — from countertops and tabletops to bathrooms and built-in detailing. Marble became Vivian’s signature — adding calm, cool contrast to her soft, warm palette.

Lighting was equally intentional: wall sconces, dimmable pendants, and natural daylight were all choreographed to enhance the home’s serene atmosphere.

“I wanted every space to feel like an invitation — calm, effortless, but full of soul.”

Styling with One More Thing Preserved Florals

Throughout the home, Vivian styled each space with her own preserved floral designs from One More Thing. These zero-maintenance arrangements — from sculptural hallway pieces to bedside posies — reflect her signature approach: sustainability meets elegance.

Preserved flowers became the perfect styling layer during lockdown, when access to fresh florals was limited — but the desire for beauty remained.

“My flowers are designed to hold energy — to complete a space without the pressure of replacing them weekly.”

From Personal Project to National Recognition

To be selected as a Home of the Year finalist is a celebration of not just design, but resilience, creativity, and self-belief. Vivian’s home is more than beautiful — it’s a lived-in space born from vision, resourcefulness, and purpose.
